Latino Arts, Inc. Along with the Latino Arts Strings Program presents the 13th Annual Guitar Festival Concert
Join us for the 13th Annual Guitar Festival and Concert and Youth Competition featuring master classes with internationally renowned talent, workshops focusing on classical guitar careers and exploration of other styles.
The evening concert will highlight the winners of the Youth Competition and will feature a solo performance by Internationally renowned guitarist Iliana Matos!

Meet Our Concert Soloist: Xavier Jara
Xavier Jara (b. 1993) is an internationally acclaimed American classical guitarist celebrated for his expressive artistry and technical brilliance. In 2016, he won First Prize at the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America International Concert Artist Competition, launching a 60-concert tour across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, and Panama — including a performance at Carnegie Hall. A Minnesota native, Xavier began his studies at the MacPhail Center for Music in Minneapolis with Alan Johnston before moving to Paris to study under Judicaël Perroy. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, also working with Olivier Chassain and lute master Eric Bellocq.
Xavier has earned top prizes at major competitions including Viseu International, Boston Guitarfest, Incontri Chitarristici di Gargnano, Ciudad de Coria, and Tokyo International Competition. In 2020, he completed his Master’s degree at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and has since continued to captivate audiences around the world. In 2022, he toured Spain as a soloist with the United States Guitar Orchestra.
A passionate educator as well as a performer, Xavier has served on faculty at California State University Fullerton and taught at the University of Louisville, where he conducted and performed Javier Farías’s Arauco with the U of L guitar ensemble. Xavier is sponsored by Augustine Strings and performs on a guitar crafted by Enrico Bottelli.
