Sixth Annual Guitar Festival Concert
The Sixth Annual guitar Festival concert, featured renowned guitarists and youth competition winners.
One of the greatest interpreters known to the world of classical guitar, Alfonso Moreno performs guitar with a symphonic approach, with an inexhaustible variety of dynamics, timbres and colors that give the listener the sensation of listening to a full orchestra. Beyond his prodigious technique, his interpretation transports his listeners with the sweetness, depth and sincerity of each of his over 9,000 performances throughout Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
Moreno’s versatility gives him the freedom to alternate his musical activities with giving Master Classes, performing solo or chamber ensemble recitals, or as a soloist with world renowned symphony orchestras. Moreno’s repertoire ranges from the composers of antiquity to modern day legends. Among his most important transcriptions for guitar and orchestra is Niccolo Paganini’s Concerto in D Major for violin and orchestra, as well as A. Dvorak’s Concerto in B minor for cello and orchestra.
In 1999 Moreno founded the Latin American Guitar Quartet with guitarists Eugenia Rodríguez from Chile and Marcela Sfriso and Walter Ujaldón from Argentina. In 1995, Moreno founded and became Artistic Director for the Xalapa Guitar Orchestra. Under his direction the ensemble has toured through Mexico, Poland, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Russia and China. Moreno is, by far, one of Mexico’s most beloved classical guitarists.
From Mexico City, Oman Kaminsky, is one of Mexico's leading guitarists.
