E Pluribus: From Many - Juried Art Exhibition

E Pluribus: From Many - Juried Art Exhibition

Calling for ARtists from across the Midwest

March 5, 2027 through June 4, 2027

For 40 years, Latino Arts, Inc. has created programs rooted in Cultura y Corazón: Culture and Heart. As we look to the future, we are proud to celebrate the talent of Latino and Hispanic artists in our community with a new exhibition featuring emerging and established artists selected through a jury process.

In partnership with the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD) and with support from the Richard and Ethel Herzfeld Foundation, Latino Arts presents E Pluribus: From Many.

In Latin, E Pluribus means “from many.” The exhibition considers how many voices, histories, traditions, and forms of expression can exist together while remaining distinct. Artists are invited to respond through personal, cultural, or cross-cultural perspectives.

Details:

·         Artists are invited to submit up to two works for consideration. All submissions must be the artists original work, no collaborative pieces allowed.

·         All work should be 2-D work, and should explore the rich mix of cultures, traditions, artistic practices, communities, and lived experiences that shape Hispanic and Latino identities.  Digital art is welcome, though strictly NO AI generated images will be allowed.

·         Artists are encouraged to create work that sparks curiosity, builds connection, and invites thoughtful conversation. Work may center on cultural identity, personal experience, creative expression, belonging, multiplicity, shared values, or the ways communities meet and influence one another.

·         Submissions should welcome a broad audience and support respectful dialogue across backgrounds and points of view.

·         Artists will need to arrange delivery/transport of artwork to the gallery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

·         More details about how to commit to participation and submission of artwork will be coming by October 30th. STAY TUNED.

Who is eligible?

Artists with an emerging or established studio practice from within the Latino/Hispanic community and artists that are allies of the community through their artistic practice.   This call is open to Midwest Artists only.
