Betsayda Machado y La Parranda El Clavo
Betsayda Machado is the voice of Venezuela. Raised in the small village of El Clavo, her rural recordings with lifelong friends, Parranda El Clavo, brought new attention to Venezuelan Afro-Soul genre: 'Tambor.' A spirit-shaking percussion and voice fiesta, said to make dancers float! During their first international tour the parranderos left El Clavo for the first time and made a stop at Milwaukee's Latino Arts Auditorium!
This engagement of Betsayda Machado y La Parranda El Clavo was made possible through Southern Exposure: Performing Arts of Latin America, a program of Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
This program was supported in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts.
