The musical vision of Alfonso Moreno has impressed audiences and critics throughout the world since he won the Paris International Guitar Competition in 1968. The diversity in technique and style that he employs often astounds the audience, who sees one guitarist and hears an entire orchestra. His catalog of musical interpretations is extensive and includes ancient music as well as pieces by contemporary composers, many of whom composed works specifically for him. Students and groups of the Latino Arts Strings program, including the Latino Arts Mariachi Juvenil, supplemented the renowned performance of Alfonso Moreno for a memorable night of music.
