Summer Salsa Solstice 2012

Friday, July 13th at 7:00 p.m.

An Evening of Music and Dance featuring
performances from Charanga-Son & Salsa Power

Summer Salsa Solstice featuring Charanga-SonCharanga-Son is an exciting ensemble of student musicians started by Jeno Somlai, creator and director of the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra’s (MYSO) Latin jazz group Son, and Dinorah Marquez, creator and director of the Latino Arts Strings Program (LASP) and Mariachi Juvenil. This collaboration between MYSO and the LASP connects a wide range of musical instruments and genres; by combining Son’s influences of Latin jazz and salsa with the Mariachi Juvenil’s classical and mariachi sensibilities, Charanga-Son expertly touches on musical genres covering the globe and spanning hundreds of years.

This electrifying ensemble of middle school and high school students will be sure to get your feet moving! Don't miss Charanga-Son's second annual performance at the Summer Salsa Solstice.

General admission tickets for the event are available for $10, and a special Dinner & A Show deal including admission to the Summer Salsa Solstice and dinner buffet at Café El Sol is available for $20. All proceeds from this event will go to scholarships for students in the MYSO jazz program and the Latino Arts String Program. BUY TICKETS NOW.
