Sixteen artists have created twenty-four pieces that reflect on the work of Argentinian author Jorge Luis Borges, one of the most important literary figures of the twentieth century.
Like Borges’ deeply philosophical texts, each piece of the installation prompts the audience to address fundamentals of human existence: identity and memory, freedom and destiny, and faith and divinity.
Exhibitions in the Latino Arts Gallery are open to the public Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. for a suggested donation of $1.
Painting Borges: Art Interpreting Literature was organized by the University at Buffalo Samuel P. Capen Chair in Comparative Literature and Philosophy, Buffalo, New York and curated by Jorge J. E. Gracia.
